Summer Fun!

Morgan recently has been on the party circuit. He went to his favorite place, "The Bounce", for Lilly's birthday party. Here he is with no fear climbing the wall!! I love that kid - he can do anything!

We went to the Bush Library for Independence Day. The fireworks were good, just extremely late for a tired little boy. Let's just say there were a few meltdowns that night! We had fun with the Ongs, Frankie, and Carlos!

This summer has been SO HOT! We finally broke down and took Morgan to the zoo. We left early in the morning and got there about the time it opened. It still turned out to be a hot muggy day, but we had fun and survived.

In these pictures you can see the sweat dripping off us!!

By the way Ben turned in his dissertation and has officially scheduled his defense!! This means he is soon to be Dr. Benjamin L. Campbell to you (yeah right!) But is does mean we will be one step closer to getting out of here and getting real jobs!! Now if we can just get me over the hump so I can see the other side!!

Well it has been a LONG time since I have updated this!! I am going to try to get better. Morgan is now a little over two and a half and turning into his own little person. It is so fun to see his personality develop and try to pick out who he acts like. While he definately looks like Ben, I think he acts more like me! (The jury is still out on if this is a good thing or not!)

Here are some of the recent things that we have been up to!

Last weekend he had his end of the year program at Power Sports. He was so excited to preform for us! He even got a trophy!

Morgan and I also went to Aunt Mandie's Graduation!! YEAH!! We were so proud!

We also had big fun when Nana and Papa came to see us in April!

Been A While

Well I know it has been a while since I have posted anything on here. It has been a busy few months and here are some of the things we have been up to.

In September my brother married the love of his life Amanda Gulley. The wedding was at my parent's house on Hatchett Creek. The wedding turned out beautiful. Especially the flowers. I was charged with making the flowers and being the "Wedding Nazi"

Morgan is all potty trained! Here he is in his first pair of "big boy underwear". This was a big day for us!!

Morgan turned 2 on October 2nd and for his birthday he got a dog. Ben thought he needed one. "Every little boy needs a dog" so I was told! We named him Oscar Bison Campbell. Oscar most likely because of Sesame Street's Oscar the Grouch, and Bison because we were pretty fresh off our Yellowstone trip where we saw lots of bison.

Instead of having a party this year we decided to take Morgan to the Houston Zoo with his friends Maggie and Lilly Larsen. Morgan absolutley loves the Larsen Ladies!!

Here is a photo of us a my department Halloween party. Guess who we were!

This is when it snowed in COLLEGE STATION, TX. We were suprized to see this. Morgan had so much fun!!

This was Morgan's trip to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. He was such a big boy!

Morgan Having Fun!

This was from one day when we went to The Bounce. It is a really nifty place where they have all these inflatable slides and bounces that kids can play on. Of course Morgan is too small to go up by himself so we HAD to help him!! (Most of the time he beat us to the top and down!! haha)

These are from when we went to the park in town to feed the turtles. We fed them bread and had about 20 or so eating at one time! Morgan liked the fish that would jump up occasionally and eat the food. He also got to play on the playground at the park and became very good at going up and down the slide all by himself. He is so proud when he can do something alone!! My little baby is growing up!

Morgan had great fun one day after it rained. There is a puddle in our front yard that fills up every time it sprinkles. He always makes an attempt to play in it when he can. I usually say no, but the other day he was just too cute!! He had so much fun splashing and playing in that puddle.

Big Weekend!!

This weekend was a big one!! We packed so much stuff into three days that it felt like we were in Alexander City for a week! We had a shower for Jeb and Mandie, Jeb's Auburn graduation and our 10 year high school reunion.  Here are some of the pictures from this weekend.

This first photo is of Morgan and me looking at a box turtle.  It had rained that night and there were turtles every where. We stopped and took a look at this one on the way to Nana and Papa's house one morning.  Morgan loved looking at the turtle and helped put it safely in the woods so it would not go toward the road.

The second picture is of Morgan in the wheelbarrow that Nana and Papa got him for his birthday.  (I know it is not until October, but they wanted him to get plenty of use out of it!) He finally got the hang of picking it up on the wheel and pushing it only after he had scratched all the floors and the porch!!

We also went to Uncle Jeb's graduation this weekend and boy were we proud he graduated!!! Morgan would say "Yeah Uncle Jeb" and clap and say "Good Job Uncle Jeb"! This was the only picture I had with all of us in it and Morgan is trying to take my necklace off.  He was quite the mess that afternoon.  He does not enjoy setting still for long periods of time.  He wanted to get into everything in the world that day.  This fact led to the next picture.

At graduation Morgan bit his tongue. He was outside with Ben because he wanted to get up and walk around and chat with everyone.  It evidently bled profusely. Thank goodness I was not there to witness this. Ben brought him back to me after most of the bleeding had stopped and we went to get a bag of ice.  I think the bag of ice was the best part of his day!

Well I am just glad we made it through the weekend!! A shower, graduation, and reunion all in one weekend was a lot!! Now we are getting ready for the wedding trip in September. Morgan and I will be in Alexander City for a whole week. Just think of all the stuff we can pack into a week!!

Summer Reflections

Summer is almost over and I thought I would show some of the fun and silly things we have done over the past few months. These are mostly pictures that we have taken randomly throughout the summer that I have not posted or sent out to anyone!

Morgan is growing up so fast and I cannot believe that he is almost two.  He is no longer the little baby that lays in my arms so still and always wants his mommy to hold him.  (Boy do I miss the days before he could walk or talk!! haha)  Now we are facing all kinds of new and fun adventures.  This morning he tt'ed in the potty all by himself.  I was so proud and we did the potty dance!!
I told him the other night that he needed to give me a hug and a kiss because he was only going to live with mommy and daddy for the next 16 years, so we needed to get in as many as we could now (yes we plan to kick him out at 18).

The first picture is of Morgan and his weekend breakfast ritual.  (Yes!! This is only allowed on the weekends because it is too hard to clean up otherwise!!)  He is so cute and messy!!  You can give him water and he could make a huge mess that would take days to clean up!!  I still find jelly all on his booster seat occasionally.

The next picture is of him playing in the sprinkler in our front yard.  You really cannot see how wet he is. He loves running through the sprinklers and trying to splash everyone. He also gets in trouble some times for trying to step on the sprinkler heads and push them back into the ground. Boys will be boys! ( Just shows how he wants to figure out how things work.) I always feel guilty wasting water to hydrate an artificial ecosystem that is not meant to be, but if I am going to let Morgan play in the water I might as well kill two birds with one stone.

The one with stickers on his face is from one day when we had "sticker-pox".  Morgan, Ben and I all had our turn at having stickers all over us.  Morgan would take stickers of the sheet and put them all over Ben and me. He put them all over our arms and our faces and pretended that they were "bo-bo's". Then he would ever so gently (more like rip!) them off and make us all better. Who knows maybe he will be a doctor some day! (You know the REAL kind! Not the PhD kind. haha) He has such a great imagination!!

The next picture I debated as to weather I should even put up because I look so bad!!  We had just gotten out of the pool and look like drowned rats!!  Morgan was playing super hero!! The blue gel pack normally reserved for headaches was his mask! He could barely see out of it and it kept falling off his little head. He also had a towel for a cape but by the time we got out the camera we had already thrown it in the laundry.  He is such a cutie!! He loves posing for pictures!!

The last picture is of us at the park here in town feeding the ducks!  Morgan loves animals and has no fear of anything (this is good and bad).  He will hold a piece of bread or goldfish cracker (whichever we remembered to bring) and let the goose eat it out of his hand!! He loves the park and being outside.  I just wish it was not so HOT here all the time.  We don't get to do nearly enough things outside as we should.

Sizzlin' Summer with my Sweet Boy!!

BIG TV!!

Here is the newest love of Ben's life: a 56 inch big screen TV!!  It is massive and takes up quite a large space in our already cluttered house.  We, however, decided it was too good of a deal to pass up.  It is so funny because when Ben and Ryan (another lovely grad student from the Ag Econ Department)  brought it to the house Morgan was not home.  When Morgan came home from daycare he turned the corner and saw the TV.  He stopped in his tracks and said "big TV" with some excitement.  I think he likes it as much as Ben!! He loves watching cartoons on it in the morning.  They are as big as him now, as you can see (Phineas and Ferb on the screen).

Well Ben and I cannot wait until the Auburn football season  starts.  We will be able to read Tommy's lips and see the nose hairs on all the players.   (Not quite sure why we would want to, but now we can!)
